Final minutes of the 1991 NBA finals Game 5 "Lakers - Bulls" The Bulls would defeat the Lakers in 4 games to 1. This would ultimately turn out to be Magic Johnson's last NBA Finals appearance, who was without James Worthy and Byron Scott, the Laker's #2 and #3 scorers, in the final game. Thus, the only win for the Lakers came in Game 1 when Sam Perkins (Michael Jordan's former University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill teammate) hit the game winning 3 point shot. Later in the final seconds, Jordan's chance for a game-winner rattled out. Other memorable moments came when Jordan shot 15 of 18 from the floor in Game 2 including a layup when, attempting to dunk, avoided a potential Sam Perkins block by switching hands in midair and laying the ball up with his left. The play became so popular that it would come to be known as "The Move" (in Chicago). Jordan also sent Game 3 (a game the Bulls eventually won) to overtime with a game tying jumper, a first of many such heroics for him on the NBA's greatest stage. The Giant house spider (Tegenaria duellica; formerly known as T. gigantea) is a member of the genus Tegenaria and is a close relative of both the Domestic house spider and the infamous Hobo spider. The bite of this species does not pose a threat to humans or pets. An established population of Giant house spiders is generally considered to be a deterrent to the establishment of a Hobo spider population. Giant house spiders compete with Hobo spiders for the same resources. Male Giant house spiders will often kill Hobo spiders and won't hesitate to make a meal of one. Up until 1987, the Giant house spider held the record as the fastest spider in the world. The record has since been awarded to a species of African Sun Spiders (Solifugae), which aren't actually spiders at all. The Giant house spider is indigenous to north western Europe and the pacific northwest of North America. The webs built by the Giant house spider are flat and messy with a funnel at one end. Scott Weiland paid tribute to his recently deceased brother on Thursday, during the first show of a brief North American tour to promote the band's upcoming second album. Michael Weiland died of a drug overdose during the recording of "Libertad," and a brother of drummer Matt Sorum died about the same time in similar circumstances, the singer told the crowd at the Avalon Hollywood club. "It literally crushed us," said Weiland, who has long struggled with drugs himself. "It made this record happen for both of us." He then turned his back to the crowd to sing Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here," with Sorum singing harmony, as he looked up at a video screen playing home video footage of Michael, his wife and two young daughters.
