Rumors surrounding the demise of Velvet Revolver are false, according to the band's bassist Duff McKagan. The band has started work on their new album, the follow-up to their highly successful debut titled Contraband. The all-star band features ex-Guns N' Roses members McKagan, Matt Sorum, and Slash paired with ex-Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland. McKagan gave a sneak peak at what the band has been up to. "Uh, you know we're just kind of in the middle of the whole thing. The songs are written, we've recorded stuff, we're going to continue recording." We caught up with Slash and Matt Sorum at the MAP Benefit show to discuss the movie and their thoughts on working on an animated project with Steven Spielberg. "I don't think it's really a kids movie, it's a little bit dark. I think every one will dig it. It's really well done, it's Spielberg so it's awesome. We're doing the end title for that right now and we're working with Dave Sardis who worked with Jett and Wolfmother.
